Amber has been twirling since she was 5 years old and has been with Twirl ATX since she was 10. She is a Junior at Stony Point High School, where she is a Feature Twirler and on the Varsity Basketball Team. She is also the Twirling to Fight Cancer High School Ambassador, and the 2021 Junior Miss Majorette of Texas. 


Amber assists with the teams and skills classes as well as doing supplemental lessons.




A former student of Sheila Rigelsky & Shirley Payne, Erica holds many titles on the State, Regional, & National level including Miss Majorette of Texas, National Show Twirl Champion, Miss Fort Worth, and Miss Austin's Volunteer. Erica specializes in helping with pageant preparation as well as twirling. 


Erica is a graduate of the University of Texas where she was the Feature Twirler for three years. She is now pursing law school. 


Josie has been twirling with the Twirl ATX Coaches since she was 8 years old. She was a Feature Twirler at Round Rock High School (class of 2019), and she was also a 2018 TSSEC Outstanding Performer. Currently Josie is a Feature Twirler for the University of Missouri! Go Mizzou Tigers!


Josie assists with the teams as well as doing supplemental lessons when in town.

Meet The Twirl ATX Coaches

Junior Coach 

AMBER SORENSON

A former student of Bethany Evans Tolley, Whitney started twirling at the age of 6. She also benefited from the instruction of Ann Nita McDonald. She competed in local, Texas State, Southwest Regional and National Competitions, winning over 100 titles throughout her career. Whitney moved on to field twirling and was the 2004-2007 University of Texas Feature Twirler.

Whitney now enjoys spending time with her sweet children, Callum & Clara, and her husband Brad. She works for Facebook as an IT HR Manager, and teaches twirling lessons in the evenings and on the weekends. Whitney is also an NBTA Certified judge as well as the Judge for the State UIL Twirling Solo & Ensemble contest each Spring.

A former student of Nancy Eisenhauer and long time member of the Corpus Christi Stingerettes, Lisa Lawson began twirling when she was only three years old. During her competition years, she held State & Regional pageant titles, and then went on to be a Feature Twirler for the University of Houston. 


Lisa has a fascinating job as a Lead Forensic Autopsy Technician. She lives with her husband and fur babies.

Anna has been twirling with the Twirl ATX Coaches since she was 7 years old. She is a Sophomore at Austin High School where she is a Feature Twirler and on the Colorguard. She is also the current Miss San Antonio Outstanding Teen, and will be performing baton twirling as her talent during Miss Texas this summer.


Anna assists with the skills class when needed as well as doing supplemental lessons.

A former student of Major Margaret Mann, Ashley started twirling at age 12 and competed in NBTA competitions into college winning many State & Regional titles. Ashley is an NBTA & AAU Certified Judge who has judged local & out-of-state contests, AAU Jr. Olympics, High School & College auditions, Canadian Nationals, and NBTA Nationals (AYOP). Ashley is also the 2021 recipient of the NBTA Texas State TEX-An Coach Award. 

During the day, Ashley is a Colorguard Director, and owner of Catch This! & TexasTwirl.com. When not teaching or judging, Ashley spends time with her children, Jason and Hailey, and her husband, Jay. Ashley also has an MBA from Texas State University and serves as the Twirl ATX Business Manager.
